Stock Market Update Tuesday February 10, 2026 Stocks traded in a narrow range with low volatility for most of the day as investors awaited the upcoming Jobs report. Trading activity was generally quiet, featuring an unsuccessful early rally followed by slight selling pressure late in the day.

The tech sector underperformed, failing to lead the market as it had in previous sessions. Software stocks (IGV) closed slightly higher but declined from their morning peaks as last week's recovery from oversold conditions began to weaken. Financial stocks experienced pressure mid-morning due to renewed worries that AI-powered products might begin to compete with their key business areas, a concern that is expected to affect various sectors in 2026.

In after-hours trading, reactions to earnings reports were varied. HOOD shares decreased by 7%, LYFT shares dropped by 13%, while F shares increased by 2%.

Score Board:

  • SPX - 0.3%

  • QQQ - 0.6%,

  • IWM - 0.3%.

Away From Stocks: Treasurys rallied across the curve, with 2-year and 30-year yields down three and seven basis points to 3.45% and 4.78%, respectively. WTI crude hovered near $64 per barrel, gold edged lower to $5,023 an ounce, bitcoin dropped below $69,000, and the VIX moved up toward 18.

Our investment approach is disciplined and long-only. We do not engage in short selling. In our long-term portfolio, we focus exclusively on high-quality companies with a demonstrated history of operational excellence and consistent shareholder value creation. However, in our short-term speculative portfolio, some stocks we post may be driven by other factors, such as notable options flow, proprietary algorithms and seasonality. We rely on our proprietary algorithms to identify high-probability entry points, whether to initiate new positions or to strategically add to existing holdings.
