Stock Market Update Friday June 12, 2026 Investors rolled out the red carpet for SpaceX, driving shares 20% higher and catapulting Elon Musk’s aerospace giant to a staggering $2.11 trillion market capitalization. The enthusiasm spilled over into broader risk assets, with the S&P 500 advancing 0.5% and finishing the week near record territory.
Away From Stocks: Treasury yields backed up modestly as the two-year note climbed four basis points to 4.09% and the 30-year bond added two basis points to 4.97%. In commodities, crude oil continued to discount geopolitical risk, with WTI sliding to $84 per barrel as markets increasingly priced in a more stable Middle East backdrop. Gold was little changed at $4,214 an ounce, while bitcoin consolidated near $63,500. Meanwhile, equity volatility remained subdued, with the VIX closing the week below 18, underscoring the market’s continued appetite for risk.
