Stock Market Update Tuesday October 7, 2025 Equities opened higher once again, with major indexes notching fresh record highs early in the session before momentum faded. Selling pressure emerged midday, triggered in part by an Oracle (ORCL) headline that briefly cooled enthusiasm around the AI trade. The modest pullback ended the S&P 500’s seven-session winning streak.

Away From Stocks: Treasury yields eased three to five basis points across the curve, largely retracing Monday’s move. WTI crude edged above $62 per barrel, gold climbed to $3,980 per ounce, bitcoin slipped to $122,000, and the VIX finished just above 17.
