Stock Market Update Thursday September 11, 2025 Equities advanced broadly on Thursday, with major indices climbing despite a marginally hotter CPI print and an unexpected uptick in initial jobless claims. Market participants instead homed in on the decline in Treasury yields ahead of next week’s FOMC decision, fueling risk appetite. Small caps outperformed meaningfully, reflecting a pickup in speculative activity.

The S&P 500 gained 0.9%, pushing year-to-date returns above 13%, while the Nasdaq 100 added 0.6% and the Russell 2000 surged 1.8%.

Away From Stocks: Treasuries rallied in a classic bull-flattening move, with the 2-year yield down 2bps to 3.52% and the 30-year yield falling 4bps to 4.65%. In commodities, WTI crude slipped toward $62/barrel, and gold eased to $3,634/oz. Bitcoin crossed above $114,000, while the VIX dipped below 15, underscoring a softer demand for hedges.

Our most recent W.D. Gann Cycle Pivot Date, announced on August 21, 2025, has so far delivered a gain of 21.69 SPY points. The next pivot date will be released at the end of September and posted in our Discord room for premium members.
