Stock Market Update Thursday March 26, 2026 Yesterday’s price action looked like trader fatigue after markets chased every headline hinting at a potential Iran cease-fire. Today, that narrative shifted decisively, with sentiment moving from skepticism to outright risk aversion.
Oil extended higher, Treasury yields repriced sharply upward, and equities sold off broadly. The S&P 500 rolled back toward last Friday’s lows, once again testing a key hedging level with meaningful positioning implications (more on that below). There was little sectoral shelter. Technology led the drawdown, with heavy pressure across both the Mag 7 complex and recently crowded storage names such as MU and SNDK. Industrials and Consumer Discretionary also underperformed, reinforcing the risk-off tone. The lone pocket of strength came from Energy, supported by the continued bid in crude.
Score Board:
SPY: −1.79%
QQQ: −2.39%
IWM: −1.74%
Away From Stocks: Rates continued to climb, with 2-year and 30-year Treasury yields closing at 3.92% and 4.91%, respectively. WTI crude held above $93 per barrel, gold traded near $4,450 per ounce, bitcoin hovered just below $70,000, and volatility firmed, with the VIX approaching 27.

Our investment approach is disciplined and long-only. We do not engage in short selling. In our long-term portfolio, we focus exclusively on high-quality companies with a demonstrated history of operational excellence and consistent shareholder value creation. However, in our short-term speculative portfolio, some stocks we post may be driven by other factors, such as notable options flow, proprietary algorithms and seasonality. We rely on our proprietary algorithms to identify high-probability entry points, whether to initiate new positions or to strategically add to existing holdings.
