Stock Market Update Thursday June 25, 2026 Stocks surrendered their early gains to finish little changed, with the S&P 500 closing essentially flat in a repeat of Wednesday's intraday reversal. Under the surface, leadership remained bifurcated as continued strength in semiconductor stocks offset another wave of selling across the once-Magnificent Seven. That left the mega cap technology cohort at its weakest level since early April, underscoring the ongoing rotation away from market leadership despite resilience elsewhere.

Away From Stocks: Treasury market was modestly firmer, with the front end leading gains as the 2-year yield eased to 4.09% from 4.11% on Wednesday and 4.24% just three sessions ago, reinforcing expectations for a less restrictive policy path. WTI crude rebounded to $72 per barrel, while gold extended its advance to $4,030 per ounce. Bitcoin broke below key technical support to its lowest level since the fall of 2024 at $59,500, while the VIX remained contained near 19, suggesting equity volatility has yet to fully reflect the recent deterioration in market breadth.
