Stock Market Update Thursday June 18, 2026 The stock market mirrored New York City's upbeat mood, with the S&P 500 rallying 1.1% and nearly retracing all of Wednesday's decline.
Away From Stocks: Treasurys also finished firmer, with the 2-year yield edging down to 4.19% from 4.20%, while the long bond yield slipped three basis points to 4.90%. WTI crude oil stabilized near $75 a barrel after its recent pullback, gold retreated to $4,215 an ounce, Bitcoin eased to $62,500, and the VIX settled in the mid-16s, reflecting a continued decline in market volatility.
