Stock Market Update Monday April 6, 2026 Stocks maintained a positive bias, with the S&P 500 advancing 0.5% as heated rhetoric from the Commander-in-Chief generated little disruption to investor sentiment. Sector performance was broadly constructive: technology led gains, while both consumer discretionary and consumer staples moved higher in tandem, joined by strength across financials and energy. Materials lagged the broader market.

Away From Stocks: Treasurys experienced modest bull flattening, with the long bond yield declining two basis points to 4.89% while the two-year yield held steady at 3.84%. In commodities, WTI crude rose above $112 per barrel. Gold edged slightly lower to $4,654 per ounce, bitcoin approached the $70,000 level, and the VIX remained elevated above 24.

Our investment approach is disciplined and long-only. We do not engage in short selling. In our long-term portfolio, we focus exclusively on high-quality companies with a demonstrated history of operational excellence and consistent shareholder value creation.
