Stock Market Update Monday April 1, 2024 Stocks finished little changed on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100.
Away From Stocks: A turbulent day in the bond market saw long-dated Treasuries lingering close to their lowest levels of 2024, with 10- and 30-year yields settling at 4.33% and 4.47%, respectively, each rising by 13 basis points during the session. Gold surged to a record high of $2,278 per ounce overnight, later retracing to $2,246, while WTI crude oil surged to fresh five-month highs near $84 a barrel. The VIX rose nearly a point to approach 14.
