Gold and Silver Hit Fresh Highs on Safe-Haven Demand

Gold surged to a record $4,530/oz, up 72% YTD, while silver jumped to $75, a 150% gain in 2025. The rally reflects rate-cut expectations, a weaker dollar, and strong central bank buying amid geopolitical tension.

WTI crude slid 2.8% to $56.74, pressured by oversupply despite Venezuela sanctions and Nigerian unrest. Crude is down 18% this year, heading for its biggest annual loss since 2020.
